Several years ago I renewed my interest in astronomy by purchasing a Meade LX90 telescope. I enjoy imaging deep sky objects and maintaining an ongoing journal about them and my processing methods. I hope my enthusiam for my hobby comes through to viewers of this blogsite.

Getting Closer to First Light
The Captain and I are almost ready for our first voyage, er ah, I mean first light. I almost thought I heard him say "Take her out Sulu. :>))

Notes: We have electric power now. Notice the futuristic gym flooring and the nifty red rope lights. Also the warm room curtains are up. The advantage of installing gym flooring is it's made out of rubber, so if you drop some equipment it doesn't break; it just bounces.

What a great observatory-enjoy! The Captian is a nice touch.
Thanks!
Yes, poor old Captain Kirk was sitting in the basement so I decided to dust him off and put him to good use.

Love the rubber flooring.
Great stand-up of Captain Kirk.
Looks great and I'm sure you are having lots of fun in there.

The weather has been so poor I haven't had a chance to actually use it for imaging but it sure is fun to go in there and tinker with all the gadgets I have in their.
